Frequently asked questions
What is Smile Safari?
Smile: expression of joy, relief or tension
Safari: hunting or photo and film expedition
Welcome to the very first Instagram museum in the country. Optical illusions,
pink palm trees, rainbows and a whole lot more. The hunt for the perfect
Instagram photo is on! With you playing the leading role.
Does this third edition consist of all new decors?
The route is being rebuilt for the new edition of Smile Safari in Wijnegem Shopping center. There are a lot of new experiences and rooms but you will also find some top installations from the first edition. Some elements were recycled, but they were finished with a new, fresh look. During the entire opening period of Smile Safari, new settings may occasionally be added.
Is filming and photography permitted?
Smile! Here you can take videos and photographs to your heart’s content! Share your pictures with #smilesafari.
Can I buy tickets at the box office?
A limited number of tickets are available over the counter; depending on the
demand and / or any sold-out time slots. Avoid waiting times and order your
tickets online!
How many friends can I bring to Smile Safari?
You are welcome with family and friends; as long as everyone has a valid ticket and follows the corona measures. The organization of Smile Safari always closely follows the measures imposed by the government regarding covid-19. In principle, all recent social distancing rules also apply to Smile Safari.
Why do I have to select a time slot?
We work with time slots to guarantee every visitor a comfortable visit. A small
group leaves every 15 minutes, so you don’t have to queue for the perfect
photo!
Are the time slots strictly followed?
We recommend that you arrive 15 minutes before the start of your Safari. If
you are late for your chosen time slot due to unforeseen circumstances, don’t
worry. The organization will then assign you a different time slot for the same
day. Tickets cannot be exchanged for other dates.
Do I have to leave the exhibition after my time slot?
We won’t be following you around with a timer, but it isn’t the idea that you
wander around for hours.

What does Smile Safari do for the environment?
You can waste your time but not our planet! When building Smile Safari, we
choose sustainable materials as much as possible.
We also work with Fair Circulair for the reuse of material. They want to
address the lack of recycling and use of sustainable materials within the
exhibition sector. That is why we like to offer our residual material at the end
of the exhibition to production labs, set builders, designers, artists, schools,
academies and stand builders.
We also offer free tap water, so be sure to bring your water bottle.
